GradcommX was one of Patrick’s coolest projects; he did this one without the rest of the H2L2 crew.
The Massachusetts Institute of Technology sought the best way(s) to connect the entirety of the MIT graduate student population with high-quality professional development resources. As is the H2L2 way, he enlisted some external research folks and noses went to grindstones. How best could we get the grads what they need, and how could we give it the interactive, exploratory vibe that fits the MIT principles.
There were podcasts, live micro-workshops, even a gamified online course, but the solution was scribbled in the form of comic books, also lending the name to the project.
This was the most effective way to capture students’ attention and get them excited about learning. And it’s still there, inspiring the next generation of thinkers.
